The European Data Protection Board (EDPB), the coordination body for the data protection authorities of the EU member states, finally released the long expected Guidelines on the territorial scope of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) for public consultation. The EDPB provides the interpretation of Art. 3 GDPR, in particular in cases of processing of personal data outside EU/EEA member states (so-called third countries).
