In view of the expiration of the deadline in summer 2021, it is becoming increasingly clear what the implementation of the highly controversial Digital Single Market Copyright Directive (EU/2019/790, hereafter: DSM-RL) in Germany could look like. The draft of the Federal Ministry of Justice and Consumer Protection (BMJV) is now available and – just like the directive on which it is based – is hotly contested, in particular in terms of the possible implementation of upload filters.
