Yesterday, the Central Bank of Ireland published its Q3-2019 statistical release on Irish SPEs.
The statistical release highlights the continued popularity of Irish SPEs for securitisation and non-securitisation activities. From Q2 to Q3-2019, the total assets of Irish SPEs increased by EUR55bn to EUR851bn and the number of Irish SPEs increased by 50 to 2493.
The Irish SPEs which saw the strongest growth were CLO vehicles, RMBS vehicles, investment fund linked entities, intra group financing vehicles and external financing vehicles.
As for the sponsors, the majority of Irish SPEs holding FVC assets are sponsored by US and UK banks, asset managers and investment firms while the majority of Irish SPEs holding other assets are sponsored by US and UK asset managers, investment firms and non-financial corporations.
